The arenas are just a few kilometers from the sylc. Apartmenthotel.
To get there, take bus 22 or X21 from “Volksparkstraße” towards “Schenefeld” and get off at “Hellgrundweg”. The journey usually takes around 30 minutes.
On concert days, however, the journey can take considerably longer, as the buses are often very busy.
Our recommendation: Take the easy option and walk. The stroll takes around 35 to 40 minutes & is usually the more relaxing choice.

HEARTBEAT AT SYLC.
For Helene Fischer’s concerts at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion, the sylc. became the meeting place for all Schlager fans on July 3 & 4, 2026.
Tattoo artist Julian, Schlager songs, balloons & disco balls created a real concert vibe. The LIBRARY BAR also served special drinks such as the Atemlos Spritz, Herzbeben shots & Prosecco to go, along with fries, hot dogs & other snacks at the event hut.
ED SHEERAN x SCHLAGERMOVE
From July 4 to 6, 2025, the sylc. became a meeting place for music fans. While Ed Sheeran performed at Volksparkstadion, the Schlagermove brought even more sparkle & good vibes to Hamburg.
With colourful decor, photo spots, a tattoo event, special drinks & British comfort food like Bangers & Mash and Bacon Butties, sylc. became the perfect festival base. Pimm’s, cider & other activities made the weekend a special mix of concert vibes & festival atmosphere.
WE'RE DOING IT THE DUA WAY
For Dua Lipa’s concerts on May 19 & 20, 2025, the sylc. was decorated to match her latest album. This allowed our guests to get into the concert spirit before the show & immerse themselves in the world of Dua Lipa.
There were also exclusive food & drink specials, such as Dua’s viral ice cream combo with vanilla ice cream, olive oil & salt. At the DIY station, guests could also design their own sunglasses with beads, glitter & other accessories

You can enjoy our lunch from Monday to Friday between 12:00 and 13:30. Our dinner menu is available daily from 17:30 to 20:00 in the EATERY.

The arenas at a glance
Hamburg’s biggest concerts and shows often take place right here: at Barclays Arena or Volksparkstadion. Both venues are located in the Bahrenfeld district, right next to Altona’s Volkspark. The arenas are directly next to each other & only a few hundred meters separate the two venues.

VOLKSPARKSTADION
Volksparkstadion is not just a major concert venue—it’s also the home stadium of Hamburger SV. The stadium can accommodate up to 57,000 people.
There are several entrances at Volksparkstadion. Which entrance is right for you depends on your ticket. So be sure to check the organizer’s instructions before the concert & allow plenty of time to find your way around.

Barclays Arena is a modern multipurpose venue. For concerts, international shows, comedy events & sporting events, it offers space for up to 15,000 guests & is one of the most important indoor venues in Northern Germany.
